Devices for Peripheral Procedures

Contents start

Olympus offers a wide range of diverse endobronchial devices to access and sample solitary pulmonary nodules (SPN) in the peripheral lung area. These procedures are safe, minimally invasive and cost-effective techniques in comparison to percutanous or surgical sampling methods.
All devices are perfectly visible under fluoroscopy and allow excellent guidance of the devices to the target area. In order to quickly and efficiently obtain tissue from the lesion, Olympus TBNA needles offer high flexibility in manoeuvring the scope. Due to its optimal force transmission, the needles produce superior puncture performance.
The guide sheath technique allows a fast and repeated access to the peripheral lesion for multiple samplings with either biopsy forceps, cytology brush or TBNA needles. An optional guiding device helps to navigate the guide sheath into the target area at difficult bifurcations.

Single-use TBNA cytology aspiration needles - SmoothShot

These 21G needles have a transparent sheath for easy recognition of blood. The needles offer a superior puncture performance (pre-tension) for transbronchial aspirations and allow a safe handle manipulation (friction in/out safety positioning).
They are available in 13 mm and 15 mm needle length and also with side-hole.

Single-use guide sheath system - GuideSheathKit

Olympus offers this unique ready-to-use kit for instrument channels of 2.0 mm and 2.6 mm in diameter. One set includes either a guide sheath and biopsy forceps or a guide sheath, biopsy forceps and cytology brush. The guide sheath technique helps to increase yield and diagnostic success by using different sampling methods.
